November 16, 2018 - November 18, 2018

All combinations of families are invited for a special weekend of fresh air, farm food, and quality time in the beauty of God's Backyard! Spend time time together as you harvest vegetables and feed the pigs, prepare and share a farm to table meal, learn sustainable practices for home, and enjoy a “Garden to Glass” class (while the kids are at "Kids Camp"). The wonderful Rev. Jamie McAdams (St. Stephen's, Birmingham) will serve as Chaplain for this retreat, facilitating thoughtful faith-based discussion on the theology of creation and times of worship. Family Farm to Table Retreat is a beautiful and fun way to reconnect with God’s creation and each other! Recommended for 1st grade and up.

January 18, 2019 5pm - January 21, 2019 11:30am

Winter Weekend is a 3 night retreat open to all 7th and 8th graders. If you are missing summer camp, need a break from the school-year routine, or are just curious about what Summer Camp is all about, this is the retreat for you. We will have all the exciting a thoughtful program as well as camp activities such as hikes, canoeing, arts and crafts, s’mores and much more! Come and see what is waiting for you at Winter Weekend at Camp McDowell.

7th and 8th Graders:

  • Price: $160
  • Check In: Friday, January 18 from 5-6pm
  • Check Out: We will have a closing worship service with Eucharist Monday, January 21 at 10:30 am. All family members and guardians are welcome to attend. If you are unable to attend, checkout is at 11:30 am.

March 1, 2019 4:30pm - March 3, 2019 2pm

Our Time is a bereavement support retreat for 6th-12th graders and their adult caregiver who have experienced loss through death of a significant person. Our Time allows adults and youth to independently (but concurrently) participate in group discussions and healing activities led by professionals. Adults have time for rest and renewal; kids have time for camp activities and making friends. All have the opportunity to connect with others who grieve and be supported in a caring community.

March 15, 2019 - March 17, 2019

Awakenings is a retreat designed to explore the Life and Light of Christ within us. High School counselors (10th - 12th graders) lead junior high participants (7th and 8th graders) by sharing their stories and facilitating small groups, games, music and worship.

7th - 8th graders:

  • Registration: REGISTER/PAY HERE
  • Price: $155 (includes canteen and t-shirt)
  • Check In: Friday, March 15 from 5-6pm
  • Check Out: We will have a closing worship service with Eucharist Monday, January 21 at 10:30 am. All family members and guardians are welcome to attend. If you are unable to attend, checkout is at 11:30 am.

10th - 12th graders:

  • Registration: HIGH SCHOOL STAFF: REGISTER/PAY HERE
  • Price: $155 (includes canteen and t-shirt)
  • Check In: Staff arrive Thursday, March 14
  • Check Out: 2pm Sunday March 17. Staff will stay for lunch, closing meeting, and cleanup

April 5, 2019 - April 7, 2019

For mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, nieces, godmothers & special friends who are like mothers & daughters! The annual mother/daughter retreat is a special spring-time retreat that is a perfect setting to reconnect, relax, and enjoy the company of your family. Plenty of optional activities will be offered along with worship, art, centering prayer, and storytelling will be a part of this wonderful weekend. Come enjoy laughter, learning, and easy living in the beautiful spring at camp!

Mothers and Daughters:

  • Registration: REGISTER HERE
  • Ages: This event is recommended for ages 5 and up
  • Cost: $135 per person ($270 for a mother/daughter pair)
  • Check In: Friday, April 5 from 5-6pm
  • Check Out: The retreat ends April 7 at 1pm. We will have a closing worship service with Eucharist Sunday morning, and lunch following immediately after.
